One way to make your kitchen cabinets stand out is to have them made with central panels of mesh or a latticework of metal, wood or a wood substitute. Some homeowners use poultry netting, which can be surprisingly attractive, especially in cabinets with a rustic look.

Some homeowners just don’t have the time or inclination to keep things as tidy as they need to be kept if they’re behind glass. Fortunately, the glass doesn’t have to be transparent. Cabinet doors with windows are a bit different from cabinets with glass doors. These doors are solid but embellished with a row or rows of little glass windows at the top, bottom or both. There might even be a small, decorative window in the center of the door.
Besides colors that are not often seen in the kitchen, kitchen cabinet doors can have striking patterns. Imagine doors with a multicolored herringbone pattern or even colorful vertical or horizontal stripes.
Instead of doors that swing out, kitchen cabinet doors can swing up or roll down. This is much like the way garage doors open. You can also opt for mini barn doors.
